In the latest update from Big Brother Naija Season 10, Kola Omotoso’s team has issued a stern warning to online commentators, threatening legal proceedings over what they describe as a deliberate character attack against the reality TV contestant

The controversy stems from a Friday night exchange between Kola and fellow housemate Dede, where she encouraged him to steer their conversation towards more personal matters.

A short clip of the interaction surfaced on social media, sparking intense criticism from some viewers who accused Kola of “overstepping boundaries” with other housemates.

During the chat, Dede politely urged Kola to “stop discussing other individuals” and instead focus on “topics about us.” Kola agreed, responding that they should indeed talk about “what’s happening between us.”

This moment, coupled with a subsequent Truth or Dare segment that led to the pair sharing a kiss, fueled further backlash, with online users questioning Kola’s motives and behavior.

As online reactions intensified, Kola’s camp responded forcefully. In an official statement shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account, his team denounced the accusations as “baseless and potentially harmful,” expressing concern over the possible impact on his public image and professional future.

They maintained that Kola has consistently conducted himself with respect and maturity, particularly in his interactions with female housemates. His representatives further highlighted his ability to respect personal boundaries, stressing that there has been no inappropriate behavior.

The statement labeled the viral accusations as “intentional and damaging,” and warned that any further false claims would trigger immediate legal recourse.

A portion of the announcement reads:
“Kola has recently become the target of a wave of online negativity, with false narratives and derogatory remarks dominating social media. We will not tolerate defamation of character and are prepared to take legal steps to protect Kola’s integrity.”

“What began as name-calling: ‘mumu,’ ‘simp’, has now escalated into dangerous and unfounded labels such as ‘rapist’, ‘predator’, ‘abuser’, coined expressly and impliedly.

“Kola has consistently carried himself in the Big Brother Naija house with dignity, respect, and kindness towards everyone, especially the women.

“From the very beginning, he has shown restraint and self-control, keeping his hands to himself even during the Thursday and Saturday night parties, and never once crossing a boundary set by anyone, male or female.

“It is deeply disheartening to see a simple, honest conversation he had with a fellow housemate twisted out of context to paint him as something he is not.

This attempt to trap him and strip both parties of their dignity is dead on arrival.

“We remind the public that labels such as these carry weight far beyond this show. They can ruin lives, careers, and futures.

“We will not sit back and allow his name to be tarnished by reckless and defamatory statements… any further defamatory tweets or posts will be met with immediate legal action.”
