Nigerian Entertainment News: VeryDarkMan Decries Fresh Accusations, Considers Legal Measures
Controversial Nigerian social media commentator, Vincent Martins Otse—widely recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM)—has addressed fresh claims leveled against him, just days after regaining freedom from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
VDM was released on May 7, 2025, after spending nearly a week in detention following his arrest at a GTBank location in Abuja. In his first public statement post-release, he alleged an organized attempt to fabricate charges against him with the intention of putting him behind bars.
According to VDM, he appeared before the EFCC again on May 12 in response to their invitation. During a four-hour interrogation, a woman identified as Princess Barbara Odoh reportedly accused him of stealing her intellectual property.
The outspoken critic revealed that the complaint was tied to his ongoing advocacy against fraudulent online vendors—a campaign that he says is central to his brand and activism.
In his words:
“When I got to the EFCC office, they presented an accusation that’s completely absurd.”
VDM explained that he had made significant investments in this anti-scam initiative while in China, and his efforts have enabled multiple scam victims to recover their lost funds. He questioned the credibility of Odoh, whom he claimed lacks any visible online footprint.
“This lady is saying the concept is hers. Madam, how? This is literally what I do! My platform is dedicated to helping scam victims get justice. I’ve recovered millions for people.
You, madam, that’s alleging this—who are you? What’s your track record? How many people have you actually helped to make such a bold claim?”
He further suggested that the allegations may be part of a wider scheme to discredit him, emphasizing that if anyone wanted to take legal action against him, it should at least be on substantial grounds.
“If you want to come for me, come with something serious—not these petty things. I’m bigger than this nonsense.”
VDM ended by reiterating his commitment to social justice and his pride in being a voice for the voiceless, reaffirming that his efforts are aimed at creating real impact.
This development continues to generate buzz across Nigerian Entertainment News platforms, as observers await potential legal responses.
