Nigerian Entertainment News: VeryDarkman Claps Back at APC, Calls for Immediate Action Against Herdsmen Killings After Apology Demand
Renowned social activist, Verydarkman, has fired back after being handed a seven-day deadline to apologize for criticizing Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s recent trip to the Vatican for the Pope’s funeral
Earlier reports indicated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had issued a formal notice requesting an apology from Verydarkman, following his public disapproval of Akpabio’s international journey amidst ongoing violence and unrest within Nigeria.
Responding to the controversy, Verydarkman tendered an apology — but not directed at the political elites. Instead, he expressed heartfelt remorse to victims affected by herdsmen attacks in several communities.
He stressed that if the individuals he labeled as “negligent” leaders continued to ignore the plight of the citizens, he would take it upon himself to speak on their behalf.
In a daring move, Verydarkman issued his own seven-day ultimatum to the authorities, demanding urgent intervention to put an end to the persistent herdsmen attacks plaguing regions like Benue, Jos, and Enugu.
He stated, in part…
“First of all, I want to apologize to the people of Benue, to the people of Jos, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, and Edo state. To the people who have been victims of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria as a result of these irreponsible leaders that we have. Leaders with misplaced priorities that leave their own people that is dying in their farmlands and traveling to go for funeral of those that don’t even know them when they were alive, all because of their political movement. Since the irreponisile leaders will not apologize, I will apologize on their behalf. People dey kpai, them dey kill hundreds of your own, una no wake up one morning una go there. President sef no get mouth give statement, una get mind dey give me 7 days. I want to give you people 7 days to clamp down the herdsmen attack that is going on in Benue, Jos and Enugu….”
