Nigerian Entertainment News: “Stop Calling My Daughter Duduke” – Simi Urges Nigerians

In today’s Nigerian Entertainment News, popular music artist Simi has made an earnest appeal to her supporters, urging them to refrain from referring to her daughter, Adejare, as “Duduke.”

The renowned singer-songwriter, who released the smash hit “Duduke” during her pregnancy, expressed her unease with how the moniker has lingered among Nigerians, even though it is not her child’s actual name.

Opening up, Simi clarified that the term “Duduke” carries no real meaning; it was merely inspired by the rhythm of the song’s melody.

“People call my daughter Duduke, which I’m not fond of. It doesn’t carry any significance. If it meant something positive…,” she explained.

While she acknowledged that the name is usually used with affectionate intentions, Simi admitted that she does not welcome it.

“I get it; it’s coming from a good place, and I try not to react, but her name is Adejare,” she emphasized.

Simi and her husband, fellow singer Adekunle Gold, welcomed their daughter, Adejare, in 2020. The couple has since kept much of her life private, occasionally sharing glimpses with fans.
