Afrobeats singer, Skales, has taken a firm stance in defense of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, distancing himself from any form of slander directed at the music icon

In a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Skales voiced gratitude to Burna Boy for continuing to perform their joint track, the “Temper” remix.

He also appealed to online critics to quit targeting him over the song’s ongoing popularity on stage.

“Pls and pls put some respect on burnas name … Burna is not anybody’s mate including me … I’ve been seeing some b.s fly around that is made up .. Burna never said that … leave that man alone .. much respect to Odg,”

This statement follows Burna Boy’s show-stopping performance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, where he thrilled the crowd with his verse from the “Temper” remix — sparking some negative commentary from those alleging he only performed it due to Skales’ recent resurgence.

While Skales’ classic hit “Shake Body” is currently trending on TikTok, it’s worth noting that Burna Boy has consistently featured the “Temper” remix in his live sets for years, making the criticism seem baseless.
