Nigerian Entertainment News: Patience Ozokwo Refutes Land Grabbing Claims, Set to Seek Justice in Court
In the latest buzz within Nigerian Entertainment News, celebrated Nollywood icon Patience Ozokwo—widely recognized as Mama G—has firmly denied recent accusations leveled against her in a widely shared online clip.
The viral footage features a widow and her daughter, who allege that Ozokwo unlawfully took possession of their family land. According to their account, the disputed property was inherited from the widow’s late spouse and was allegedly sold to Ozokwo by an uncle, despite the widow and her daughter holding valid ownership documents.
Addressing the controversy in a public statement released on Tuesday, June 3, the seasoned actress clarified that she lawfully bought the land in 2010. She stated that the seller, believed to be the rightful owner, had contacted her realtor to facilitate the transaction.
Ozokwo noted that the matter only escalated in 2024 when the previous seller reportedly attempted to illegally resell a segment of the already acquired property, prompting her to act.
“Once I got wind of the situation, I went there personally and protected the land by fencing it off. Suddenly, I’m being portrayed online as someone who stole the only remaining property belonging to their late father and husband,” she said.
She condemned the allegations as outright falsehoods and attempts at extortion and character assassination.
Determined to protect her name, Ozokwo revealed her intention to take the issue to court.
“I’ve decided to resolve this through the judicial system. It’s disappointing that certain bloggers ran with the video without confirming the authenticity of the claims. To those spreading these lies—I’ll see you in court,” she stated firmly.
Clips of both the widow’s accusations and Ozokwo’s rebuttal continue to gain traction across social media platforms, fueling discussions in Nigerian Entertainment News circles.
