Nigerian Entertainment News: “Mr Eazi Should Have Been Modest and Taken Temi Otedola’s Surname” – Radiogad

Popular media figure Radiogad has shared his thoughts on the recent buzz surrounding the surname situation after the wedding of Nigerian music star Mr Eazi and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola

As reported by Naija News, their marriage stirred conversation online when Temi opted to adopt her husband’s surname, Ajibade, dropping her famous maiden name.

Weighing in on the matter via a video posted to his Instagram account, Radiogad voiced his opinion that Mr Eazi may have missed an opportunity by insisting Temi take his surname.

He proposed that the artist might have benefitted more by assuming Temi’s family name, Otedola, given the prestige and recognition that comes with being part of one of Nigeria’s most prominent families.

Radiogad added that in certain situations, especially when marrying into a powerful and influential lineage, it might actually be more advantageous for the husband to adopt his wife’s surname instead.

He said:

“The biggest mistake Mr Eazi made was giving his surname to Temi Otedola. Mr Eazi na you suppose collect Temi Otedola surname. You no know who you marry? Sometimes a man suppose humble himself, collect surname of a woman especially when you are marrying someone as powerful, influential as Otedola pikin. Mr Eazi if you collect that surname you are doing yourself a favour…”
