Nigerian Entertainment News: Jim Iyke Opens Up About Confronting a Producer with a Machete Over Controversial Script
Popular Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, has disclosed a dramatic encounter where he pursued a movie producer with a machete after being handed a script that asked him to portray a gay character
Sharing the story, the actor emphasized that he has strong personal values and would never accept such roles in any Nigerian film project, stating that it clashes with his beliefs.
“I can’t vibe with the gay community, I’m sorry. I won’t wear a skirt for anyone, I’m sorry,” he said. “I respect everyone’s lifestyle, really. To each his own.
But we’ve worked too hard to lose direction now. The last filmmaker who pitched me that kind of role… I tracked him down with a machete.”
Jim added that the moment the producer saw him, he fled. “I told him, keep running. Just keep running,” he recalled. He acknowledged that the entertainment industry is trying to appeal to a broader and more diverse audience, but he made it clear that certain themes are not in alignment with his personal boundaries.
