Nigerian Entertainment News: Iyabo Ojo Files Legal Complaint Against Police Over VDM’s Presence During Interrogation
Prominent Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has initiated legal proceedings by filing a petition to Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, over alleged unprofessional conduct by members of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCC) and controversial internet influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM)
The formal grievance, submitted on July 29 through her legal representatives at The Maverick Forte Legal, accuses the police unit of procedural irregularities and exhibiting clear favoritism during a recent questioning session held in Abuja.
Iyabo Ojo had been invited for questioning following accusations of cyber harassment and defamation brought forward by musicians Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
According to her legal team, during one of the interrogations, VDM, a non-law enforcement civilian and a defendant in a separate case where Ojo is a witness, was inexplicably allowed inside the interrogation chamber.
The petition asserts that VDM was casually interacting with officers and complainants, sipping coffee, which Ojo’s team calls a serious violation of both protocol and privacy.
In this unfolding Nigerian Entertainment News story, Iyabo Ojo is now demanding an independent probe, the relocation of the case to Lagos, and a halt to what she describes as a biased and compromised investigation.
The actress also emphasized that her original complaint against VDM, lodged in December 2024, has been completely disregarded by authorities. Citing concerns for her personal safety and well-being, she has made the decision to cease attending further sessions at the Abuja office.
Additionally, the petition alleges that Commissioner of Police Ifeanyi Henry Uche maintains an improper alliance with VDM, allegedly granting him unauthorized access to police premises. Ojo’s legal team further claims that confidential information from her interrogation was leaked online—reportedly by the activist himself.
This latest development is gaining attention across platforms focused on Nigerian Entertainment News, as the actress seeks justice and transparency in the face of what she calls institutional misconduct.

@lordbizmak:This woman keeps making mistake, who is even advising this woman?
@shirleykib:CP uche needs to explain how the riff raff was able to walk into his office while he was interrogating anything another civilian. Does VDM now work for the Nigerian police force?
@ladymitchy_:Love me some an audacious and smart and intelligent woman 🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️
@truehomesrealty:Naira marley has the right to bring whoever he wants into the investigation room. If I was wrongfully accused by you and we are at the station to make a deal which you are pleading for you don’t have right to tell me who should be in the room or not ! Your privilege has been lost from the moment you made false claim on Naira Marley and Sam Larry that they are responsible for mohbad death.
@zamani_oflife:Iyabo Ojo has never been a standard for anything. She’s an actress and influencer, not an activist. Most of these “justice” cases she jumps on are clearly for clout and visibility. Let’s not pretend otherwise.
