Nigerian Entertainment News: ‘I’m Sorry, Guys’ – Burna Boy Offers Public Apology Amid Tour Cancellations
In the latest Nigerian Entertainment News, globally acclaimed Nigerian singer and Grammy-winning performer Burna Boy has tendered a public apology to his supporters during a live show, following growing reports of dwindling ticket sales and intense criticism over a controversial incident at one of his U.S. concerts
The backlash originated from his Denver, Colorado performance, where he allegedly spotted a female fan dozing off in the front row and demanded that she be taken out, warning that he would end the show if she wasn’t escorted away.
The moment was filmed and quickly circulated online, fueling widespread reactions.
Matters intensified after an old video re-emerged, in which the artist was said to have expressed a preference for wealthy fans—an issue that prompted many to boycott his concerts, ultimately leading to lacklustre ticket sales across various U.S. venues.
In response to the escalating criticism, Burna Boy cancelled multiple tour dates, including the Minneapolis show initially set for November 28, 2025, and the Chicago performance planned for December 1, 2025.
While performing recently in Texas, the artist addressed the controversy head-on, expressing remorse and attempting to rebuild trust with his audience.
He conveyed his apology openly, stating:
“I’m sorry, guys. It was a slip of the tongue. I apologize for what I said. I’m so sorry, everyone”
