During a recent conversation with Nadine Graham from Billboard, the head of DMW swiftly corrected the interviewer’s characterization of him as the leading figure of Afrobeats in the United States, insisting his leadership extends globally.
Davido, as the eminent figure in the Afrobeats domain, envisions a future where audiences anticipate nothing but “excellent music.”
In his words;
“Just good music. And it’s crazy, because people in jail have heard my music.”
The Grammy-nominated artist shared plans for two forthcoming albums, one tailored for African listeners and the other targeted at American audiences.
Additionally, Davido divulged his fondness for the collaborative track ‘2 AM’ featuring Casanova and Tory Lanez, citing its ability to blend Canadian, Nigerian, and American influences seamlessly.
Last year marked a significant milestone for Davido as he clinched his debut Grammy Awards nomination in three categories, including the coveted ‘Best Global Album’ for his recent release, ‘Timeless’.
