Nigerian Entertainment News: “I Won’t Change My Sound For Western Audience” – Olamide
Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji, popularly called Olamide, has opened up about the secret behind his remarkable journey in the music industry, stressing the value of understanding one’s audience
The “Local Rapper” crooner expressed that he takes immense pride in being an indigenous musician and is not in pursuit of international approval or Western validation.
During an exclusive chat with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Olamide revealed that he has no intention of modifying his signature sound or adjusting his artistic style to please foreign audiences.
According to him, maintaining authenticity and staying connected to his cultural roots remain his greatest priority.
“You have to identify your audience. Once you identify your audience, the rest of the world will catch up eventually. So, I have to stay true to myself and no matter where it is, what it is, I mean, in this world, I have to stay true to myself.
“I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m a Naija guy, Yoruba boy, I have H-Factor and all that, and I’m proud about it. You just have to stay true to yourself,” he affirmed.
This revelation has further solidified Olamide’s image as one of the most authentic and culturally grounded figures in Nigerian Entertainment News.
