Nigerian Entertainment News: “I don’t see not being married as a negative” – Actress Bimbo Akintola says

Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, has candidly shared that although she has received multiple marriage proposals over the years, she has declined them all because she is yet to meet the right partner

During a recent interview, the 52-year-old screen icon expressed her perspective on remaining single:

“For me not to have found my partner, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, I don’t see it as a negative. I’ve been proposed to many times, and I’ve said no.”

Akintola also addressed the societal expectations placed on women regarding marriage, urging people not to enter into unions due to external pressure.

 “Did you just marry because people say marry? Look at divorce ratings now in Nigeria, it’s skyrocketing. Some people are married before they leave the reception if the marriage has broken up.”

She emphasized the importance of raising both boys and girls with the same level of accountability and values.

“Teach your sons that their body is the temple of God the same way you teach your daughters. As soon as you impregnate a girl, no more school for you, my dear. Go and work and raise your child.”

she stated.

On the topic of cyberbullying and relationship choices, Akintola encouraged women to shift focus away from wealth alone.

“Stop chasing only wealthy men. Look for men who are diligent, responsible, and willing to build a future with you,” 

she advised.
