Nigerian Entertainment News: “He will always be my brother”- Olamide Speaks On Relationship With Asake
Nigerian music icon Olamide Adedeji has opened up about his bond with former YBNL signee Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake.
In 2024, Asake stirred speculation about his exit from the label after unfollowing all YBNL-related accounts and temporarily shutting down his Instagram page. He also failed to appear at a concert hosted by Olamide that same year, intensifying conversations online about his possible departure. At the time, both artistes remained silent about the situation.
However, in a recent interview with BBC Africa, Olamide addressed the matter publicly for the first time, affirming that their relationship is still intact. He explained that their connection goes beyond music or business, noting that career decisions do not interfere with personal loyalty.
Olamide described Asake as family, stating that he maintains the same level of respect and affection for other former YBNL artistes as well. He said, “We are still family. He will always be my brother. Business ends, but life goes on; it’s never personal. This applies to everyone who has left.”
Speaking about his upcoming show at the OVO Arena Wembley on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Olamide promised an electrifying performance, calling it a “Lagos-style party in London.”
