Nigerian Entertainment News: “Dem Don Run Go Canada” – Naira Marley Subtly Digs at Iyabo Ojo
Controversial artist and “Soapy” hitmaker, Naira Marley, has once again sparked buzz across social platforms after dropping a puzzling message on August 6 through his X account (formerly Twitter)
He referenced a lyric from his 2018 banger “Japa”, writing:
“Japa japa omo ja wo Canada 🎶,”
loosely meaning, “The child has escaped to Canada.”
The cryptic message quickly ignited fan speculation, with many suggesting it was a sly jab at veteran Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo.
Ojo is currently in Canada, awaiting the birth of her first grandchild. Her trip came on the heels of viral reports surrounding her daughter Priscilla’s rumored pregnancy.
Adding more fuel to the gossip, Naira Marley later shared an audio snippet of the same lyric on his Instagram story, reigniting conversations about the lingering tension between him and Iyabo Ojo.
Their strained rapport traces back to the highly publicized drama following the tragic passing of rising star Mohbad. Iyabo Ojo was vocal in her condemnation of Naira Marley and his Marlian Music label, accusing them of harassment and mistreatment toward the deceased artist.
This latest post surfaces at a time when Iyabo Ojo is already facing growing online backlash, mainly driven by outspoken commentator Verydarkman, who has been circulating so-called “proof” and asserting that the actress unfairly singled out Naira Marley instead of prioritizing justice for Mohbad.
