Nigerian Entertainment News: Cubana ChiefPriest Appeals to Tinubu to Prohibit Open Grazing Following Benue Tragedy
Prominent nightlife entrepreneur and renowned Nigerian celebrity, Okechukwu Pascal—better known as Cubana ChiefPriest—has joined the chorus of voices calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to place a ban on open grazing nationwide
His remarks follow the tragic mass killings recently reported in Benue State.
Sharing his thoughts via Instagram, the high-profile social influencer condemned the attack, urging the federal government to immediately abolish open grazing and adopt ranching as a safer and more sustainable practice.
He described the devastation inflicted by herders as “savage” and emphasized that such violence must cease.
Cubana ChiefPriest was outspoken in his message, calling on Benue residents to prioritize their safety and take defensive action if the need arises.
His post read:
“My President, make that order now!!! End public grazing. The level of damage done is brutal. This madness has to stop. Feed your cattle in your ranches.“
Benue people sharpen your sword⚔️. No gree for anybody to kpai you. To defend yourselves no be crime!!!.”
In related developments, President Tinubu, while addressing community stakeholders during a town hall session in Makurdi on Wednesday, assured the public that the federal government would take strong action if the violence is linked to land encroachment.
“We were not elected to bury people and have orphans and orphanages,”
Tinubu said.
“We will work with you to achieve peace.”
He acknowledged the worsening land disputes within the region and pledged a thorough, long-term approach to resolve the crisis.
