Nigerian Entertainment News: Burna Boy Promises to Handle Burial Expenses for All Children Lost in California Mass Shooting
Award-winning Nigerian artiste Burna Boy has vowed to take responsibility for the burial expenses of the four children who tragically lost their lives in the recent mass shooting at a kids’ birthday celebration in Stockton, California
The “Last Last” hitmaker revealed that he felt a deep emotional bond to the heartbreaking event after learning about it on The Breakfast Club radio program.
He later contacted music executive Wack 100 and Hollywood Unlocked host Jason Lee to extend his support.
In an official statement, Burna Boy expressed his reasons:
“When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke. After hearing the story on The Breakfast Club, I reached out to Wack 100 and connected with Jason Lee because no family should ever face this kind of pain alone,” he said. “I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing.”
The announcement highlighted that the superstar was especially touched by the case of Amari Peterson, a 14-year-old student-athlete with a 3.8 GPA whose promising future was abruptly taken away.
Stockton’s Vice Mayor Jason Lee remarked:
“Burna Boy’s generosity is an example of how people around the world want to help, even when they’ve never met the families impacted.”
Details of the Tragedy
The incident took place on Saturday, November 29, inside a packed banquet center in northern Stockton, where between 100 and 150 guests had gathered for a child’s birthday celebration.
Four young individuals lost their lives, while eleven others sustained injuries. Among the identified victims are eight-year-old Maya Lupian and 21-year-old Susano Archuleta.
