Responding via Snapchat, Angel dismissed the outrage, stating that being labeled a lesbian is not the insult many presume it to be. She emphasized the irony in a society that turns a blind eye to more severe societal issues like child abuse yet finds fault in harmless personal relationships.
Reasserting her autonomy, Angel said, “This is my life, and I’m a grown woman who can live it how I see fit.” She criticized the moral double standards of many Nigerians and pointed out that different people hold different values.
