Legendary Nigerian music star, Innocent Idibia—widely known as 2Baba—has finally addressed his prolonged conflict with his former group member, Blackface

In a recent conversation with media personality Nedu, the Afropop icon shared his exasperation over the continuous criticism he receives from Blackface, despite always approaching the situation with dignity.

2Baba described many of the accusations made by Blackface as baseless and deeply upsetting.

Looking back on their musical history, the “African Queen” hitmaker disclosed that he was the main songwriter behind the chart-topping classic, which significantly shaped his musical journey.

Although baffled by Blackface’s persistent resentment, 2Baba emphasized that he is choosing to ignore the negativity and focus on peace.

“It was a collaboration. I wrote most of the song, actually, but we wrote it together.

I’m not somebody who comes and starts dragging words. I don’t know what his intentions were, and I don’t know what I have ever done to him.

I’ve always shown him respect, but he has always been out there to smear my name. They are absurd, ridiculous and very painful at times. And, till today, I just wonder why? That’s the only thing I have in my head.
