American Entertainment News: Diddy Juror Dismissed from Sex-Trafficking Trial for Misleading Court
In a major development reported by American Entertainment News, a juror was removed from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ high-profile sex-trafficking trial after it was revealed he had provided false information to secure a spot on the jury
The male juror, identified as Black, was dismissed by Judge Arun Subramanian on Monday, despite strong opposition from Diddy’s legal team, who contended that removing him would lessen the jury’s racial diversity.
Taking his place will be a 57-year-old white accountant residing in Westchester County.
Addressing the change, Judge Subramanian stated, “The defense raised legitimate concerns about replacing an African-American juror with a white individual. The court is mindful of these concerns, but additional inquiries could compromise the integrity of the jury. That’s why we have alternate jurors.”
The judge also scolded the defense for framing the issue in racial terms, calling such arguments inappropriate and clarifying that juror decisions cannot hinge on race alone. “Mr. Combs is not entitled to a jury curated to match his racial background,” the judge remarked.
The 55-year-old music mogul is accused of orchestrating a decade-long operation in which he allegedly used coercion, intimidation, and abuse to dominate and exploit his longtime partner, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, now 38, along with others. Prosecutors claim Diddy forced the victims into prolonged, disturbing sexual encounters referred to as “freak-off” sessions.
Combs has denied all allegations and entered a plea of not guilty to charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and interstate travel for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. If convicted, he could face a life sentence.
According to American Entertainment News, the prosecution is expected to conclude their arguments within the next few days.
