Nigerian Entertainment News: Tonto Dikeh Says Toxic Friends Led Her Into Failed Music Career
Popular Nollywood star and political figure, Tonto Dikeh, has opened up about how negative peer pressure from those closest to her played a major role in the collapse of her short-lived music career
In a heartfelt reflection shared on her Instagram, the 40-year-old was seen singing Don Moen’s “God is Good” as she looked back on her time in the music industry.
Tonto’s music journey kicked off in 2013, with singles like “Hi” and “Crazically Fit”, but never gained real momentum.
She revealed that surrounding herself with the wrong circle contributed heavily to her failure in music, and she urged her followers to be mindful of the friends they keep.
In a lighthearted tone, Dikeh claimed that if she had genuine musical talent, she might have outshone big names like Tiwa Savage, Cece Winans, or even the legendary Whitney Houston.
She said, “If I could sing ehn, una for don Dey sick of me….
“Like you don’t even understand, Likkeeeeeeeeeeee who is Tiwa? Who is Whitney, who is cece winas? Taaaaahhhhhhh.
“Watching this video reminds me of the time I had the worst kind of friends who pushed me to release album.
“Look sneeze/sniper and co your bedroom is been reserved in hell. Moral of this lesson choose your friends wisely more importantly be wise.”
